How We Use INSiGHT Scans to Support Growing Families

At our office, we know that every nervous system is unique. That’s why we use INSiGHT Scans, a safe, gentle, and non-invasive technology that helps us see how well your body (and your child’s) is functioning from the inside out.

We like to think of these scans as a “window into the nervous system.” They help us measure how your brain and body are communicating, adapting, and handling stress — long before symptoms appear.

Why We Measure, Not Guess

Chiropractic care is about more than back pain or posture. It’s about how the nervous system — your body’s master control center. It coordinates every function, from digestion and sleep to growth, immunity, and emotional regulation.

When the nervous system is stressed or overworked, it can show up as:

  • Difficulty sleeping or self-soothing

  • Colic, reflux, or digestive issues

  • Developmental delays or sensory challenges

  • Trouble focusing or regulating emotions

  • Prenatal tension, round ligament pain, or hip/pelvic discomfort

But because stress in the nervous system isn’t always visible on the outside, we use INSiGHT Scans to find and measure it. This data helps us create the most specific and individualized care plan possible — one that supports true healing, not just symptom relief.

How INSiGHT Scans Work

INSiGHT Scans are completely safe, gentle, and radiation-free, making them perfect for infants, children, and expecting moms. Each scan takes just a few minutes and feels similar to a thermometer gliding across the skin.

There are three key parts of the scan:

  1. Thermal Scan (Temperature Mapping)

    • Measures the temperature along the spine to detect areas where the nervous system may be overstressed or imbalanced.

    • Helps us see how well the body is regulating organs and blood flow.

  2. Surface EMG (Muscle Scan)

    • Evaluates muscle tone and tension along the spine.

    • Tells us if the body is “stuck” in fight-or-flight mode and overusing certain muscles to compensate.

  3. Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

    • Tracks how the body adapts to stress by measuring heart rhythm and balance between the sympathetic (“gas pedal”) and parasympathetic (“brake pedal”) sides of the nervous system.

    • Gives insight into how well the body can rest, digest, and recover.

Together, these scans create a full picture of your nervous system’s function, helping us see patterns that manual exams alone can’t reveal.

What Happens After the Scan

Once your scan is complete, we’ll review your results together in an easy-to-understand report. You’ll see color-coded visuals showing how your nervous system is functioning and where it may be under stress.

From there, we build a personalized care plan based on your specific scan findings. For prenatal patients, this may include gentle Webster-based adjustments to support pelvic balance and ease tension during pregnancy. For infants and kids, our focus is on calming and regulating the nervous system to promote better sleep, digestion, immunity, and development.

We’ll also re-scan at key milestones so we can track progress over time giving you measurable proof of how your body (or your child’s) is adapting and healing!
